The Evolving Wellness Education Resource Center

It is anticipated that this Web site will become a major portal to the Internet for the evolving Wellness Education Resource Center in Port Ludlow. However, for this center to best serve residents and answer wellness related questions more comprehensively and in a multi-modal manner, the center will require more diverse and diversely accessible resources. Thus, we likely need some facility to house pamphlets and wellness reference resources, as well as a computer corner to accommodate one-on-one or small group assistance with Internet use, online resources and, more specifically, the sorting of the wealth of wellness and health related Web sites.

As a step toward the non-digital venue of the Center, two three-hole "Notebooks" or "Resource Binders" were assembled and made available to members at the Beach Club and the Bay Club. These notebooks contain a multitude of directories, pamphlets and brochures published by health & wellness providers and support organizations in Jefferson and Kitsap Counties. The photo on the left shows Ursel Krumme and Peggy Schafran, presenting one of the Notebooks to an appreciative Brian Belmont, General Manager of the Beach Club on April 27, 2011. Linda Colasurdo, Operations Manager, likewise welcomed the Notebook at the Bay Club.

We are trying various ways to connect with residents, including by having a booth at local fairs. Here, Ursel Krumme and Kathy Traci, represent the Wellness Committee at the Fort Worden Wellness & Safety Fair in March 2012.
